Call For Committee Members

Best Practices, Communications and Advocacy, Technology, Standards and Metadata: New SPP Committees

The Shared Print Partnership is excited to invite library staff across our Member organizations to join one or more of our new Standing Committees:

Best Practices

Communications and Advocacy

Technology, Standards, and Metadata

This is an opportunity for professional development with an interdisciplinary focus, collaborating with libraries and shared print organizations across the US and Canada, and becoming a part of the conversation with an international community of practice. You’ll be an integral part of shaping the future of shared print practice and building a brand new organization.

Expertise

To the greatest extent possible, membership should represent the different SPP regions, institution sizes and mandates (e.g. teaching-focused vs. research universities), and reflect a range of professional experience and career stages. We are looking for experts with significant experience as well as newcomers to shared print with innovative ideas. This is an opportunity to broaden your experience and contribute ideas beyond the bounds of your institution.

Time Commitment

Membership term is two years (renewable), and should ideally be staggered to ensure committee continuity. Virtual meetings will be held bi-monthly or more frequently as needed to advance the work of the Standing Committee as decided by each group given their focus and activities.

Standing committees will convene in early 2027.

Leadership Opportunities

Each new committee will be seeking Chairs or Co-Chairs. If you are interested in a leadership opportunity please indicate that in your expression of interest.

How to Apply

The initial review of applications will start on November 10, 2026 with the call remaining open until all committee spots are filled. Nominations including self nominations will need to be accompanied by a short paragraph to explain which committee you are interested in and why. Applicants of all experience levels will be considered. Applications will be submitted to Laura Aydelotte, laydelotte@clir.org

Please feel free to reach out should you have any additional questions.

About SPP

The Shared Print Partnership (SPP) is a federation of monograph and serial shared print programs across the United States and Canada. Each of our members is itself a shared print organization representing regional or specialized shared print activities across multiple libraries. The SPP provides a professional community across these organizations, promoting guidelines for best practices, fostering discussion across regional and institutional boundaries, and creating innovation in library work.
