In 2022, the Partnership for Shared Book Collections* charged a task force to investigate bibliographic matching algorithms (original charge) – a critical foundation for building and leveraging shared collections. Matching algorithms underpin a range of key decisions and workflows in managing retained collections and any related deaccessioning.
The Shared Print Partnership Bridge-Year Executive Committee is delighted to announce that the Matching Algorithms Task Force has completed its charge and released a final report. The Task Force investigated three approaches to matching algorithms including an AI technique and reports on their findings and offers several recommendations for future work.
Our grateful thanks to all Task Force members:
- Sara Amato
- Ian Bogus (Chair)
- Barbara Cormack
- Andy Hart
- George Machovec
- Steve Smith
