The SPP is excited to announce the launch of SPP Exploratory Generative Groups, or EGGs. EGGs are a new way for members to start grassroots conversations about whatever they are passionate about, frustrated by, or interested in exploring about the work of shared print. We are inviting anyone who would like to start a conversation with a small group of colleagues about a particular topic in shared print, and who works at one of the SPP Member Programs or who work for libraries that are affiliated with member programs to be in touch about creating an EGG. These are conversations that are designed to take place with a small group of people (ten or fewer), for a short-term period (8 meetings in 9 months). They can be conversations that serve a short term purpose and then conclude, or they can culminate in more formal work such as sending a set of recommendations to offical SPP committees for consideration or proposing that the EGG group continue as a formal SPP committee or working group. All that is required is to:
- Have a topic you would like to discuss short term in a small group
- Carefully read the SPP EGG Directives document, which provides the details about starting an EGG.
- Write to SPP Coordinator Laura Aydelotte at laydelotte@clir.org (or info@sharedprint.org) about getting your EGG set up!
